Let YOUR Accomplishments Be Because Of YOUR Choices!

In this world that we live in, we have doctors and lawyers, we have businessmen, women and entrepreneurs, we have engineers, we have individuals who work in retail, individuals who work for the city and individuals who are in prison among others. What all of these individuals have in common is that they reached their current positions based on the choices that they made. However, the question that alot of us avoid asking is "Was the choice that they made THEIR CHOICE?"

Naturally when we hear a story of someone who's been incarcerated, we associate their current conditions with the fact that they made the wrong choice, WHICH THEY DID most of the time! When we see someone working in retail that we remember from high school and we remember the person as a smart individual, we say they could've made better choices in life. However, when we hear a success story of a lawyer, doctor, or engineer among others, we automatically say that "This person made it in life.", "This person is a success.", and most of all "This person made the right choices." .......How is it that you know this?.......Because they have a good job?.........Because they are stable?........Because they are not working on an hourly wage?

Each of these individuals made it to where they are because they made choices. However, in a lot of cases, EACH OF THESE OUTCOMES are also dictated by the choices of others. When we hear the story of someone incarcerated, not only do we associate it with the choices that they made, but we also make an association with the company that they choose to keep, which in a lot of cases is a fair analysis. However, when we see those individuals working in retail or for the city, we say that they CHOSE not to go further and we leave it at that. When it comes to the doctors, lawyers and bussinessmen, we see their success and we say that they CHOSE to make something of themselves and we see it all as a positive outcome. However, just like someone who has been incarcerated allowed those around them to mold their decisions, a doctor may have done the same.

Of course, no one is going to complain about the pay that you make as a doctor, however what if this highly successful doctor never wanted to be a doctor? What if he wanted to be a lawyer, but his mother who is also a doctor pressured him into going into the field? What if this lawyer actually wanted to be a singer, but her family gave her grief about the stability in law and the lack of in entertainment? What if the person working a 9-5 actually wanted to be an engineer, however no one from their family (that raised them) graduated high school or went to college and constantly told them that it could not be done?

Believe it or not, these scenarios are very much real and happen each and every day. Just like the individuals who are incarcerated made the wrong choice (most of the time), the individuals whom we associate with "success" also made the wrong choices because they are not doing what they really wanted to do and in some cases, what they were born to do. In actuality, these individuals are living the dreams and accomplishing the goals that were possibly for the individuals who are pushing them to achieve them.

Whatever it is that YOU want to do in life, let it be because YOU want to do it, not because your family has a tradition, not because those around you are pressuring you, and definitely not because others didn't have the vision for their life that you have for yours..........B.U.!!!!!!! If you want to be a lawyer and everyone else in your family is a doctor, BREAK THE MOLD! BE DIFFERENT! If you want to sing , SING! But make sure that you have a plan in order to ensure your stability for your future. If you're working a 9-5, work your way to where you want to be within your company business or career. If you have a positive vision for your future but you're surrounded by individuals that seek out negativity, pass your vision of your future off to them in hopes that it will cause a positive reflection on their future instead of the other way around. Whatever the scenario may be, strive to be the best at what you do, because NO One Can B.U. But You!
