Don't Be Afraid To Push The Mountain
Happy Sunday to everyone. I hope that everyone had a great week and I hope even more that everyone is looking forward to an even better week ahead. On that note, I want to encourage everone that as you go into this new week and face everything that it will entail, don't be afraid to push the mountain. In life, most people go as far as the status quo that they follow allows them to. However, they may not agree with that status quo. They may think that the status quo can be different, they may think that it can be better, they may even think that it shouldn't exist, but they will only THINK about their feelings regarding the status quo, however they will not make any effort to change it.
The question then becomes Why? Why would someone go along with something that they don't agree with? Why would someone conform themselves to a standard that they feel can be better or more successful? The obvious answer: They don't want to be different. In life we all say that we don't want to be like everyone else or do what everyone else is dong, however when it comes to certain aspects of life, we will go along with whatever will avoid making us the odd man out. You may feel in your heart of hearts that what you have to say can change the face of that status quo for the better, but if the majority says that it's fine as is, and the rest follow that majority, you will do the same because you're afraid that you will look like a fool trying to push a mountain. Furthermore, there's no way that an "immovable" mountain will move if you're the only one pushing it
However if you think about where we are today, it is because people chose to push those "immovable" mountains (possibly on their own) and came out looking like geniuses because they made the mountains move. If everyone was afraid to be different, we would never have seen the breakthroughs that have been made in this world. Ilnesses that we see today as common cures would still be deemed as plagues, newspapers and radios would still be our main source of current events and we would not have the resources vital to our livelihoods that we take for granted everyday. These among others would not have been possible if people didn't push the mountain and stand against the status quo.
You may find yourself standing alone and you may look like a fool in the process, however if you feel that what you have to say or bring to the table can change things for the better and possibly shatter that status quo, don't EVER let someone else's opinion that it's fine as is or it won't work alter your mindset because your belief that it can be done is powerful enough to make it happen. It doesn't matter if you are by yourself, you have the power to push the mountain and when others see you moving it, they will join you as well. I challenge everyone who reads this to be different. Find a mountain that you feel needs to be moved and begin the process of acting on it and if you have to do it on your own, then do it on your own, but know that it can be done.
